Big girl pants on. Let's go.

I'm not so good at change.

Never have been. As a kid, the start of a new school term would knock me sideways. I’d hate the new teacher. The new classroom. The new routines. And then, after a few weeks, I’d settle. I’d find my rhythm. I’d be fine.

Sometimes, change is necessary.

This week I've had to make the really difficult decision to take my daughter out of her nursery and put her into a new one. We've had a real issue with consistent staffing that I feel is having a negative effect on her wellbeing, and so I'm left with the choice of doing nothing and hoping it gets better, or making a big change and taking her somewhere else.

It would be easier to do nothing.

It would be less scary to do nothing.

Going somewhere else means getting used to a new journey, a new set of nursery workers, it means Morgana making new friends. None of that is easy.

But we've done nothing for months now, and nothing has changed. So it's time to put my big girl pants on and do something.

And it got me thinking… how often do we do this in business?

We know something’s not working.
Sales are slow.
The pipeline's patchy.
The positioning doesn’t quite click.

But we bury our heads and hope it just sorts itself out. Because that's less painful than making a change. Less scary than taking a risk on doing something new.

Hands up if you've been guilty of it.

Hands up if you're there right now.

So what's it going to be? Are you staying stuck, or are you making a change?

Besides moving Morgana to a new nursery, I'm making a few changes over the next few months.

  • I've finally taken on help to increase my capacity for clients (so yes, I do have space for new clients for the first time in months).
  • I'm launching my new website really soon.
  • I've invested in a new community to surround myself with new people.
  • I'm simplifying my offers (2 group offers, 2 one to one offers).
  • I'm changing up my wardrobe combos to better serve my aspirations (yes, it matters, no, it's not vanity).
  • And I'm launching my ROAR framework (keep your eyes peeled - it's a gamechanger).

Because I'm building in public. And that means embracing change. Embracing mess. Embracing fear. And moving forward.

So this August I'm inviting you to put your big girl pants on with me. Stop doing the same thing and expecting different results. Don't wait til September. Don't wait for next year.

If you're struggling, you can join my August audio challenge - 30 Days to Marketing Magic - where we're going to work through things that might be keeping you stuck. It's only ÂŁ37 and it'll only take 15 minutes a day. Accountability and action, even in summer.

But look, this isn't a sales email.

This is an email reminding you that forward momentum is sometimes scary. But that doesn't mean it's not the right thing to do.

So what needs to change for you to move forward? Write it down and commit to it (or at least starting it) before the end of August.

Okay, that's quite enough from me.

P.S. I'm going on holiday next Friday, so there's going to be a gap in my newsletters for a couple of weeks. I know I could write and schedule them, but it's the summer holidays, and my kids are growing up way too fast, so I'm going to just switch off and enjoy them for bit.

Happy Weekend! So I just got back from the opticians. Me and the boy are both glasses wearers, and we've both had our "your eye test is overdue" letters in the past few weeks, so off we trotted down to Specsavers to have those little puffs of air shot into our eyes. And lo, we both have new prescriptions - the boy's eyes are slightly better (hooray for no longer secret reading in the dark!), my eyes are slightly worse (boo to being vain and not wearing my glasses half as often as I'm supposed...

Hey stunner, I’m writing this with that slightly knackered-but-buzzing feeling you get after something really good has happened. Yesterday, I hosted my very first Socially Shared meeting as the Sutton & Coleshill host. I won't play it down - it was a cracker. A full room. Proper conversations. Women actually talking to each other, not just swapping Instagram handles and legging it. People left with new connections, new opportunities, and the foundations of their 2026 marketing strategy...

Hi Reader! Happy New Year - and welcome to 2026! January always arrives with a strange mix of pressure and possibility, don't you think? Everyone telling you to “start fresh”, “go bigger”, “post more”, “sell harder”… while your nervous system is still recovering from mince pies and end-of-year exhaustion. So this month, I want to do something different. Rather than overloading you with even more actions to do at a time when (clearly) our bodies want to be slowing down and hibernating, I'm...
