Okay, can we just agree to stop trying to please the fucking algorithm?

Happy Friday!!

I feel like I'm literally just breathing out today. What a week.

So apparently August is meant to be a quiet month…

Weeeeellllllll here’s what I actually did this August:

  • Completed 3 full marketing strategies for clients
  • Ran my 30 Days to Marketing Magic audio challenge
  • Delivered 2 LinkedIn training workshops
  • Hosted a full Visionary Strategy Day
  • Gave blood
  • Wrote a chapter of my new book
  • Ran an ABM campaign
  • Signed 3 new clients for September
  • Wrote 2 viral posts for a client
  • Bought a new car
  • Attended 4 networking events (and won new clients from them!)
  • Took a whole week off on holiday
  • Did it all with the kids at home for the summer holidays (helped by them being older now, and grandparents stepping in too 🙌)
  • (And there's a whole week of the month left!)

Not exactly “quiet.”

And, contrary to popular belief, it’s not because I’m superhuman — it’s because I didn’t buy into the “August slowdown” myth. I stayed visible, I kept my marketing strategic, and I kept the ball rolling while others wound down.

That’s the difference between spaghetti marketing and strategy. When you’re clear and consistent, opportunities don’t take holidays.

That's what my 5 Day Strategy Sprint is all about. Creating a marketing strategy that's strategic, manageable, and shows you where to put your energy to get maximum output. The next one runs 8-12 September, 1-2pm.

Stop playing the algorithm’s game

Here’s the other thing I’ve noticed: everyone’s fed up with the algorithms. The hacks, the trending audios, the words to avoid, the “post at exactly 7:32am on a Tuesday” rules. Exhausting, right?

So I’ve stopped playing.

I've decided to write the damn thing. Post what’s bold, and real, and what I believe. Say the unsaid. Hit publish even if your stomach flips. Because people buy from people — not from perfectly timed, algorithm-approved fluff.

And that’s exactly how business growth works too: bold moves.

🔥 Investing in your brand.
🧭 Getting your strategy nailed.

It’s rarely comfortable. But if it makes you a little nervous, it’s probably the exact move that’s going to shift everything.

So let me ask you: what’s your bold move for September? What are you going to do to set up Q4 to be your best yet?

P.S. I've got 3 more spaces on my September Strategy Sprint, if you want to get a marketing strategy together that will actually cut through the noise and give you a marketing plan that delivers clients rather than overwhelm, hit reply and let’s talk.

Happy Weekend! So I just got back from the opticians. Me and the boy are both glasses wearers, and we've both had our "your eye test is overdue" letters in the past few weeks, so off we trotted down to Specsavers to have those little puffs of air shot into our eyes. And lo, we both have new prescriptions - the boy's eyes are slightly better (hooray for no longer secret reading in the dark!), my eyes are slightly worse (boo to being vain and not wearing my glasses half as often as I'm supposed...

Hey stunner, I’m writing this with that slightly knackered-but-buzzing feeling you get after something really good has happened. Yesterday, I hosted my very first Socially Shared meeting as the Sutton & Coleshill host. I won't play it down - it was a cracker. A full room. Proper conversations. Women actually talking to each other, not just swapping Instagram handles and legging it. People left with new connections, new opportunities, and the foundations of their 2026 marketing strategy...

Hi Reader! Happy New Year - and welcome to 2026! January always arrives with a strange mix of pressure and possibility, don't you think? Everyone telling you to “start fresh”, “go bigger”, “post more”, “sell harder”… while your nervous system is still recovering from mince pies and end-of-year exhaustion. So this month, I want to do something different. Rather than overloading you with even more actions to do at a time when (clearly) our bodies want to be slowing down and hibernating, I'm...
